Webleys pledge $50,000 to SRJC Doyle scholarships

SANTA ROSA -- Santa Rosa Junior College today announced a $50,000 matching gift pledge for the Doyle Scholarship Fund from tech industry leader John Webley and his wife Jennifer.

The pledge is intended to foster community support for the “Bridging the Doyle Campaign” launched May to raise money for scholarships for SRJC students until the Doyle is restored.

“We love Santa Rosa Junior College, and we all need to do everything we can to make sure that young students have the help they need to attend college and achieve success,” said Jennifer Webley.

The Webleys are involved in many philanthropic activities in the area. Jennifer serves on the board of the Santa Rosa Symphony, and John manages PAX Streamline, a clean-tech startup in Novato.

The Doyle Trust dividends were suspended earlier this year by Exchange Bank in Santa Rosa.

The scholarship was established in 1948 by Frank Doyle and has been given to more than 120,000 students.
