Jim Higgins was appointed vice president and business development officer of Novato-based Bank of Marin’s San Francisco loan office. Prior to Bank of Marin, Mr. Higgins was a principal with Golub Capital.

North Valley Bank appointed Ilona Williams senior financial services representative at the company’s Santa Rosa branch. Ms. Williams was most recently with Circle Bank, where she served as vice president/client services representative, and with Washington Mutual Bank, where she was a senior personal financial representative.

Redwood Credit Union in Santa Rosa named Amber Treshnell assistant vice president and regional manager of the San Francisco region. Ms. Treshnell most recently served as vice president of Bank of America’s West Coast card services call center distribution channel.

Terri Mitchell joined Ryan Mortgage Co. as a loan consultant specializing in commercial and residential financing. Ms. Mitchell worked for 12 years in the technology industry focusing on cost analysis and marketing.

Ken Wells, former executive director for Sonoma County’s Waste Management Agency, joined iReuse of Sausalito. iReuse helps organizations throughout the North Bay maximize their waste diversion by reuse, recycling and composting.

MetLife Foundation gave Jason Gilman a 2009 MetLife Volunteer Service Award in recognition of his work with the nonprofit Family Service Agency of Sonoma County. In recognition, the foundation gave a $2,500 grant to Family Service Agency. Mr. Gilman is the agency sales director of MetLife’s Santa Rosa office.

Communications equipment maker Calix in Petaluma expanded its leadership team with the appointment of four new executives. Ken Grelck is vice president of regional sales for the Eastern U.S. and Canada; Skip Hirvela was promoted to vice president of regional sales for the Western half of the U.S.; Robert Checketts is vice president of field marketing; and Todd Ortberg took the new position of senior vice president of business and market development.
