Conference to address SB 375, transportation and land use as well as give a detailed look at Napa's Downtown Specific Plan

SANTA ROSA - After a successful inaugural event with more than 300 attendees, the Business Journal is holding its second Impact Napa Conference exploring top issues shaping the future of business in Napa County.

Paul Price, executive director of the Napa County Transportation and Planning Agency, will discuss the impacts of SB 375 on transportation and land use in the county, including what his agency is doing to prepare and what the recently completed draft report on the area carbon footprint means.

A special panel focusing on Napa's Downtown Specific Plan will get into the nuts and bolts of the plan and how it is being used to create a new vibrant city center. Napa Mayor Jill Techel will moderate the discussion. Speakers include Craig Smith, executive director of the Napa Downtown Association, and Cassandra Walker, Napa economic development director. Mr. Smith will cover who the downtown merchants are and what they hope to get from the plan, and Ms. Walker will review "catalyst" site concepts and how they will be used in designing the reuse of three key properties, including Copia.

The event will be held Thursday, August 27 at the Meritage Resort in Napa. Registration begins at 2:00 p.m., and the program runs from 2:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A wine and hors d'oeuvres reception will follow from 4:30 to 5:30. Tickets are $39 per person or $390 for a table of 10 (with company name on sign). To register, contact Linda Perkins at 707-521-5264 or events@busjrnl.com by August 21, or go to www.northbaybusinessjournal.com/11817/11817/.
