Green

Assemblyman Jared Huffman, D-San Rafael, presented Petaluma-based Fit ‘n’ Furry with a sustainable North Bay Award for August after the business became the first in the city to operate a certified “all green commercial building.”

Hospitality

The Santa Rosa City Council will make a proclamation Aug. 25 recognizing the 30th anniversary of La Gare restaurant in Santa Rosa.

Insurance

Heffernan Insurance Brokers, which is based in Walnut Creek but has an office in Petaluma, raised $47,000 for the Avon Breast Cancer Walk in July.

Wine

Napa-based Grieve Family Winery released its inaugural vintage Aug. 5, a Lovall Valley sauvignon blanc.
