It is in the same spirit that brought together, the business, labor, develoer and environmental organizations in Sonoma and Marin Counties to lead the passage of the SMART sales tax measure afterr many unsuccessful years of infighting. Another example of a successful cooperative approach began in the late 80's, when Kaiser-Permanente developd a comprehensive agreement with itslabor organizations. The resulting collaborative spirit has enabled this organization to prosper and set the standard for high quality, accountable medical care nationally. I am hopeful that agreements like the one referenced in this article will have a similar affect on the quality of development and life along the SMART corrider.
