With building a LEED certified building, it should not only uphold the standards not only when it is being tested but also when for a lifetime. We would have to track and updated to ensure the LEED certificated building a truly energy efficient and also has sustainability. We want to remember that LEED certified buildings are and always will be beneficial to the environment.

Well, I think that the best way to go about it would be to advertise a set of green standards that will be reached in a proposed design. And educate the potential client on how those standards/modifications are capable of making this or that energy savings or tax credit possible. Not promising results, but promising a specific customization or design configuration.

For example, you might to build south-facing windows for maximum energy efficiency. But you don't promise your client a lower heating bill.

If I go to the store and buy a low-calorie weight-watcher's microwave meal, which advertises that it can help me lose weight, you won't see me suing the manufacturer a month later because I didn't lose 5 pounds. The meal itself was what it said it was - it had fewer calories and therefore was predicted to possibly help me lose weight. But it didn't promise any specific result in terms of weight loss.

Mr. Sypher's quote is very interesting. I wonder if he is a LEED AP. I would like to think that a trained LEED AP would have enough knowledge and competency to know whether or not a building that is designed in a particular fashion will function in said way. I think the new standard set forth by LEED is a smart one; if a building is designed to work in a certain way, it ought to function in that way. If it does not, its certification should be revoked.
