CARB fines for emissions

NORTH BAY – The California Air Resources Board fined two North Bay companies last month for failing to comply with emissions standards for diesel-powered vehicles. Golden State Lumber in Petaluma was fined $20,000 after investigators found the company did not conduct mandated emissions tests between 2007 and 2008. Napa-based Biagi Bros. was fined $14,400 for failing to properly inspect the vehicles for excess emissions in 2008 and 2009.

The California Air Pollution Control fund will receive $15,000 and $10,800 of the fines for Golden State Lumber and Biagi Bros., respectively, and the remaining $5,000 and $3,600 will go to the Peralta Community College District to fund emissions education classes.
