SANTA ROSA — Steve Farmiloe, chief operating officer of Vantreo Insurance Brokerage in Santa Rosa for the last four years, announced he is leaving the company.

“I feel this is the time for me to move on from Vantreo,” Mr. Farmiloe said. “I believe that there is another challenge for me that is in direct alignment with what gives me passion.”

He said no specific plans are in place for his next endeavor.

“Some of the situations that stir me the most might include a CEO/COO/VP sales position at possibly a start-up venture, large non-profit, an aggressive, well-established organization that really connects with its vision and mission, and any entrepreneurial enterprise,” he wrote.

Mr. Farmiloe began working for Matsen Insurance Brokers in 2003 as a sales manager. He was involved in the purchase of 76 percent of Matsen, which then formed into Vantreo in 2007, when be became the COO.

At Vantreo, Mr. Farmiloe oversaw a number of responsibilities: carrier appointments, licensing, contingency contracts, human resources, staffing budgets, cash flow forecasting and sales management.

Mr. Farmiloe’s career has included stints in wholesale distribution, telecommunications and manufacturing.

He is active in the community and is currently the board chair for the United Way of the Wine Country.

His last official day at Vantreo is Friday.
