Next stage set for new community health center

SANTA ROSA – The community health organization formerly known as Southwest Wednesday celebrated a key milestone for its new $17.7 million facility.
Sonoma County Supervisors Shirlee Zane and Efren Carrillo both lauded the new center as it embarks on its final phase toward opening. They were joined by representatives from Kaiser Permanente, Sutter Medical Center and the Sonoma County Department of Health Services, among others. The county, along with Kaiser, Sutter, St. Joseph Health System, the Ernest L. and Ruth W. Foundation and individual donors Frank and Kathleen Mayhew all made significant contributions toward the expansion.
“The range of services that the clinics provide is incredible and provides a critical, clinical safety net,” Supervisor Zane said.
The Santa Rosa Community Health Centers expects to serve an additional 9,500 patients at the now vacant building and is currently raising funds to furnish it with an opening date set for October.
