SCWA program ends

SANTA ROSA -- The Sonoma County Water Agency will close its High-Efficiency Fixture Direct-Installation Program on April 30. The program provided funding for plumbing contractors to install high-efficiency toilets and other water-saving devices at no charge to homes and businesses within the agency’s sanitation districts and zones.“Reduced water sales and reduced tax revenues are impacting agency programs, and this is a necessary but regrettable loss for us,” said County Supervisor Shirlee Zane.More than 4,000 high-efficiency toilets were installed in eight months, with projected water savings of more than 40 million gallons per year.
