Green

Recently, members of the Healdsburg Green City Committee toured Healdsburg-based Simi Winery to see the water and energy conservation measures taken by the winery. These include a state-of-the-art water treatment facility, which highly treats up to five million gallons of water annually, as well as upgraded dated cooling plants with modern ultra-efficient cooling units, which have lessened energy costs related to cooling its facilities as well as lowered demand on the local utility infrastructure.

Nonprofit & Community Organizations

Ten employees of Heffernan Insurance Brokers’ Petaluma office will help with gardening and farm chores at Cultivating Impact on Aug. 3. The firm, which has donated a total of $2,500,000 to charity, chose Cultivating Impact as its project because the nonprofit farm teaches organic farming to local children and produces healthy organic vegetables for the community..
