GREEENBRAE — The Marin Healthcare District, now in full control of the 235-bed Marin General Hospital, repaid the county of Marin a $12.5 million line of credit this month.

The $12.5 million was part of a county bridge loan of $20 million that was granted by the county Board of Supervisors in 2008 for a new computer system and working capital.

The district said it would repay the county within 75 days of retaking operation of Marin General from Sutter Health, which ceded control of the level III trauma center and hospital on June 30.

The district only used $12.5 million out of the entire loan.
