SANTA ROSA — The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors this afternoon unanimously approved Sutter Health’s planned $284 million hospital next to Wells Fargo Center for the Arts north of Santa Rosa. The first phase of construction is set to start Oct. 1.
Without further comment today, the board voted 5-0 to approve the land-use permits and health care access agreement and certify the project environmental impact report.
The first phase of construction will be 80,000 square feet of medical office buildings.
A new hospital is a win-win proposition,” said Supervisor Valerie Brown in a statement released this afternoon. “It will not only improve quality, it represents a [$284 million] investment in our community that will provide much needed jobs for our residents.”
