Autodesk leads $6 million funding round for construction software startup
SAN RAFAEL — A Massachusetts-based construction industry software startup today said Autodesk Inc. (Nasdaq: ADSK) led a $6 million series B round of equity financing.
Burlington, Mass.-based Vela Systems raised the funds from Autodesk and series A investors Commonwealth Capital Ventures, GrandBanks Capital and private individuals.
Vela launched in 2005 to create software building information modeling, or BIM, to the job site. A year ago Autodesk announced a collaboration with Vela last year to integrate the software with Autodesk’s Navisworks Manage application so that measurements taken in the field are incorporated into the computer model.
