Napa brewery acquired

NAPA – Pelican Brands of Carmel, Ind., entered into an exclusive purchase agreement to acquire the Napa Smith Brewery & Winery. The deal includes seven acres of land and 50,000 square feet of production, warehousing and office space. Napa Smith had appointed Pelican Brands as its exclusive sales representative in the U.S. earlier this year.

"This acquisition is a perfect strategic fit for Pelican Brands in building a global sales and brand platform of both owned and agency brands," said Pelican Chairman and CEO J. Smoke Wallin.

Napa Smith will be available nationwide by mid 2011, according to Steve Morgan, president of Napa Smith. Pelican's portfolio includes wines, spirits and beer, including Thailand's No. 1 export Singha Beer.
