Foster's taps new leader for post-demerger wine group

Foster's Group Ltd., whose Treasury Wine Estates unit includes North Coast brands Beringer and Chateau St. Jean, today announced heads of separate beer and wine businesses that would be created in a demerger plan now set to be completed in the first half of 2011.

If the demerger is completed, David Dearie would become chief executive officer of Treasury Wine Estates. He has been managing director of Australia and New Zealand wine operations since July 2009.

John Pollaers, managing director of Carlton & United Breweries, would be CEO of the Foster's beer business.

Foster's Group CEO Ian Johnston would leave the company after the split.
