Memorial names new director for acute rehab unit

SANTA ROSA -- Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital announced today it has appointed Danny Arzanipour as the new medical director of the hospital's Acute Rehabilitation Unit.

In his new role, Dr. Arzanipour will be responsible primarily for evaluating and admitting patients to the acute care unit, overseeing the care and treatment of patients in the unit and participating in planning and development of the unit, among other duties.

Dr. Arzanipour, a member of Annadel Medical Group, joins Memorial from Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Center, where he worked in the outpatient spine clinic.

While with Kaiser in Vallejo, he completed a fellowship in Traumatic Brain Injury. He completed both his medical internship and physical medicine residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

The acute rehab unit at Memorial is a 15-bed, inpatient unit that offers intense therapy by physical and occupational therapists and speech pathologists. The unit cares for a wide variety of medical conditions, injuries and illnesses including stroke, traumatic brain injury, major trauma, paraplegia, amputation and total joint replacements.

Annadel Medical Group now has 28 physicians and five nurse practitioners.
