Santa Rosa Memorial starts birthing center renovation

SANTA ROSA -- Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital is undertaking a $444,000 renovation of its Family Birthing Center.

Upgrades to the 14,000 square-foot center will involve remodeling of five pre-existing private rooms and the conversion of five double rooms to private rooms for mothers and families of newborns, according to the hospital. The project includes new furnishings and "eco-friendly" flooring and 23-inch televisions in each room.

The revamped birthing center is scheduled to open May 27.
