NORTH BAY – Nonprofits throughout the North Bay will have the chance to hear experts sound off on a slew of issues that concern them, ranging from legal and accounting advice to marketing and technology.
Pisenti & Brinker, an accounting firm based in Santa Rosa, and the North Bay Business Journal will hold two Nonprofit Boot Camps in Napa and Sonoma.
Ingrid Mittermaier, a partner with Adler & Colvin, a San Francisco law firm that specializes in nonprofit law, will address nonprofit governance and nonprofit mergers from a legal perspective at both the Napa and Sonoma events.
Christina Hollingsworth, a CPA and manager with Pisenti & Brinker, will offer guidance on revenue stream alternatives and accounting and reporting requirements, at both events.
At the Napa event, which will be held at the Napa Valley Opera House, Erwin Reeves, vice president of Mechanics Bank, will discuss the Community Reinvestment Act, diversification of funding and banking options such as how to apply for loans.
At the Sonoma event, to be held at Sonoma Mountain Village, Joe Goldberg, principal and director of retirement plan services for the Buckingham Family of Financial Services, will discuss the differences between 401 (k) and 403 (b) plans, fiduciary liability and options for limiting or delegating liability.
Also at the Sonoma event, Elaina Hunt, director of marketing for Summit State Bank, will discuss nonprofit marketing, sponsorships and Web/SEO maximizing. Linda Bertauche, senior vice president and chief operating officer of Summit State Bank, will discuss the Community Reinvestment Act.
Teresa Bockwoldt, CEO and founder of Vibato, a financial tools and solutions company headquartered in Petaluma, will discuss mitigating risk, reducing fraud, minimizing external audit costs, and reporting compliance. She will speak at both the Napa and Sonoma events.
So too will Lomesh Shah, owner of IQR Consulting in Santa Rosa, who will discuss the importance of cloud computing and the need to leverage technology to gain operational efficiencies.
The Napa event is on May 19 at the Napa Valley Opera House, from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
The Sonoma Mountain Village event is on May 24, also from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Lunch will be served at both events and includes a keynote by Brenda Fellows, Ph.D., a national expert in organizational development.
