Engineering

Mark Obergfell has joined Coastland Civil Engineering in Santa Rosa as a supervising engineer.  He brings 29 years of experience in the design and construction of municipal projects, including transportation, drainage, public buildings, water and wastewater facilities.

Government

Nancy Huston has been appointed Assistant County Administrator for Solano County.

Ms. Huston is the current city manager for the City of Dixon. She assumes her new role in July 2011.

Wine

Ralph Sartori has joined Wilson Daniels as vice president of sales, western division. He was formerly director of sales, California for Diageo Chateau & Estate Wines, a division of Diageo Plc.

Melissa Stackhouse was appointed vice president of winemaking for J Vineyards & Winery. She was winemaker at La Crema from 2003 to 2010 and most recently a Pinot Noir Winemaster for all Jackson Family Wines. She replaces George Bursick, who has gone on to develop Bursick Wine Consulting.

Charles Krug- Peter Mondavi Sr. Family Winery hired winemaker Stacy Clark. She comes to Charles Krug with more than 25 years fine winemaking experience in Napa

She will collaborate with Peter Mondavi Jr. in overseeing winemaking operations.

Nonprofit Organizations

Marilee Eckert, CEO of Conservation Corps North Bay, was named the 2011 Environmental Hero Award by Assemblymember Jared Huffman (D-San Rafael). The award recognizes an exceptional individual for leadership and innovation in addressing environmental stewardship.

Insurance

Tony Arnold has been appointed by State Farm as a new owner/agent in the North Bay. His office is located at 101 Larkspur Landing, Suite 228, next to the Marin Country Mart. He is the former president of business development resources, vice president with Amex Life Assurance, and branch manager with Fireman’s Fund in Riverside, CA.

Health Care

Seven doctors from Marin and Sonoma counties affiliated with Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation have been named on the prestigious list of Best Doctors in America. They are: Heptologists Timothy Davern (Marin); Adil Ed Wakil (Sonoma); Neurologist Jonathan Katz (Marin); OB/GYN Denise Main (Marin and Sonoma); Pediatric Cardiologist Nikola Tede (Marin and Sonoma); Radiologist Anthony Stavros (Sonoma); and Pediatric Endocrinologist Suruchi Bhatia (Marin). The list – created by Best Doctors, Inc. – results from intensive polling of more than 45,000 physicians in the United States.

Scott Technology Group announced the addition of Jack Long as a new account manager in Marin County. He has 30 years of sales experience, during which time he owned a company in Southern California that packaged and sold sponsorships, television rights, and sporting event promotions.
