SANTA ROSA — Saputo Inc., parent company of DCI Cheese Co., formerly G & G Specialty Foods, announced the closure of the facility in Santa Rosa facility, resulting in the loss of 68 production and office jobs.

This was after a monthlong analysis for the best way to integrate DCI Foods into the parent company, which acquired DCI in March of this year, according to Sandy Vassiadis, director of corporate communications at Montreal-based Sapuot.

“It was a difficult decision to make,” she said. “There were major human and capital investments that needed to be made. The spreads, hummus and salsa that were made in that facility are not made in any other facility.”
