PETALUMA -- Annadel Medical Group, which contracts exclusively with St. Joseph Health System-operated facilities throughout Sonoma County, announced the addition of two new primary care physicians in Petaluma.
Doctors Rajesh and Rajina Ranadive, a couple and both board-certified internal medicine physicians, joined the medical group associated with St. Joseph Heritage Healthcare, the medical foundation arm of St. Joseph’s. Physicians employed by the medical group provide outpatient and hospital-based services at Petaluma Valley and Santa Rosa Memorial hospitals, as well as other facilities.
The two new doctors bring the total number of physicians to 32 for Annadel, which was established in 2008 and has seen its ranks grow in the past few years.
The Ranadives will continue to treat their current patients out of their existing medical offices on Lynch Creek Way in Petaluma. They are scheduled to complete the practice transition by August of this year, according to St. Joseph’s.
The doctors, who live in Petaluma, have been practicing medicine in Sonoma County’s second biggest city since 2003 and have been active with various health organizations, including Petaluma Valley Hospital, the Petaluma Health Care District and the Marin-Sonoma IPA physician network.
Since 2009, Dr. Rajesh Ranadive has been chief of medicine at Petaluma Valley Hospital, which is owned by the Petaluma Health Care District and operated by St. Joseph. He is also the medical staff vice president and is in line to become the next medical staff president pending election to the post.
Dr. Rajina Ranadive serves on two committees at Petaluma Valley – the medical executive and physician well being committees.

The Ranadives’ practice includes approximately 3,500 patients, according to St. Joseph’s.
St. Joseph said the two new doctors, as primary care physicians, will focus on prevention and wellness while treating chronic and acute illnesses, with an emphasis toward seniors.
Both doctors graduated from the Ross School of Medicine, which has campuses in Miami and the West Indies. They completed their residency at New York Methodist and Memorial Sloan Kettering, also in New York, and both graduated from UC San Diego in 1995.

Earlier this year, Petaluma-based family practice physicians Paul Umino and David Sisler, formerly partners in the El Rose Medical Group, joined Annadel. And in late April, Annadel physicians joined the Marin-Sonoma IPA.
