Autodesk, Inc. announced its 2012 portfolio of software suites and free curricula to help students learn core design and engineering skills. The new suites provide the same tools used by professionals and will make it easier for students to adopt and use a broader set of Autodesk’s design software. The suites are available in more than 10 languages, including English.
Verizon Wireless is expanding its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network in the Bay Area on June 16. Residents in Marin and Solano counties with 4G LTE smartphones, laptop modems and hot spots will be able to take advantage of speeds up to 10 times faster than the company's 3G network. Currently, Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network is available to residents in San Francisco, Oakland and San Jose.

KSRO Radio has been nominated for the Associated Press Television and Radio’s “Mark Twain Awards.” The awards ceremony will be taking place on June 4 at Disneyland’s Paradise Pier Hotel in Anaheim. The purpose of the award is to advance journalism through the media of radio and television, to cooperate with the Associated Press in order to make available an accurate and impartial record of the news.

Alvarado Street Bakery was presented with Assemblymember Jared Huffman’s, D-San Rafael, May Sustainable North Bay Award in recognition of its sustainable business practices. The Petaluma worker-owned cooperative makes organic whole grain breads. Alvarado Street Bakery has also taken steps to lower its energy usage and recently installed one of the largest solar arrays in Petaluma, which has offset 40 percent of the company's power needs.
Wine
Infineon Raceway and FLASQ Wines have entered into an agreement giving the St. Helena-based winery its first-ever sports venue alliance in the United States. FLASQ is a domestic wine sold in quick-chilling and 100-percent recyclable 375ml aluminum bottles.
