Hospitality and Tourism

The Napa Valley Destination Council announced the recent appointment of Kathleen Fitzgerald to the position of vice president of sales. She brings nearly 25 years of experience in leadership roles within the travel industry including incentive tour operations, corporate meeting planning and destination management to the Napa Valley.  In her new role, she will lead a sales team that will develop and qualify leads in national and international markets for group, incentive and leisure business for the destination’s lodging partner.

Technology

San Rafael-based Zep Solar announced the appointment of Daniel Priem as director of business development and sales for Europe. Mr. Priem will aid global demand for Zep Solar’s PV mounting solution and grow market share in key European regions, including Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

Banking

North Valley Bank announced that Jim Hubbell has joined its team as a mortgage loan officer in Santa Rosa. Mr.  Hubbell will cover the Santa Rosa, Ukiah, Willits and Garberville communities. He has worked in the mortgage industry in Santa Rosa for 20 years, most recently with First Priority Financial.

Umpqua Bank, a subsidiary of Umpqua Holdings Corporation, hired Samantha Foster as vice president, commercial relationship manager and Erick Ransome as assistant vice president and senior commercial underwriter for the bank’s Santa Rosa commercial banking center. Ms. Foster has more than 18 years experience in commercial lending, most recently with Bank of the West. Mr. Ransome has nearly 10 years of banking experience, holding positions as a credit analyst, underwriter, and most recently, a relationship manager at North Coast Bank.

Health Care

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center appointed Dr. Steve Olson to the new position of assistant physician-in-chief for service. Dr. Olson graduated from UC Davis Medical School and joined Kaiser Permanente in 2006 after 19 years in a large family practice.

Law

Gaw Van Male has hired veteran attorney Alfonso Poire. He joined Gaw Van Male effective May 1. His practice areas will concentrate on commercial transactions and related matters, including mechanics’ liens, contracts, leases, land use as well as business labor and employment and general civil litigation.  He lives in Fairfield with his wife and their children.

Nonprofits

The YWCA of San Francisco and Marin hired Julie Leigh Domeny as development associate at its San Rafael office.  She brings 15 years of experience in non-profit program development and fundraising, and will be primarily responsible for supporting the YWCA’s FiftyPlus Job Search Program serving under and unemployed older workers, and Life Inc., a life-skill building, youth development program for high school youth.
