Charter air company Solairus triples size

Petaluma-based company adds offices in New York, Denver; at 300 employeesPETALUMA -- Petaluma-based charter air company Solairus has tripled in size since it launched in 2009.

Dan Drohan, who founded the company under another name in 1992, just announced the opening of an office in New York City. This follows closely on the heels of an office opening at Centennial Airport in Denver.

The Denver office is supporting the company's already established East and West Coast operations and will play a key role in providing client support throughout the Mountain States.

Brian Moss will head the new office and act as a local contact for regional partners and clients.

"Our new office location is perfect, and the timing for its grand opening is ideal," Mr. Moss said. "As the company continues to expand, having regional representation to better serve our clients has become increasingly important. … I am pleased to be here representing our great company."

Solairus also added two aircraft to its fleet in May, a Bombardier Global Express and a Challenger 604.

"2011 is off to a good start for Solairus," Mr. Drohan said. "We've added seven new aircraft to our charter fleet, opened a new office in Denver and have forged several new corporate partnerships within the first four months of the year. During this same period of time, Solairus was also awarded the NBAA Flying Safety Award, recognizing our team-members for their exceptional achievements in maintaining safe flight and ground operations. This award is a testament to the high degree of professionalism and care inherent in Solairus’ operations, and it is a tribute to the skill of our administrative and maintenance staff, flight crew and support teams. I am very proud of all of them and I know that their efforts will continue to help our company grow."

Solairus has 50 aircraft under management and 300 employees, half of which are employees locally.
