Solano EDC hosts leading political columnist Walters

FAIRFIELD -- The Solano Economic Development Corporation will host The Dog Days of August, a breakfast event that will feature Sacramento Bee Political Columnist Dan Walters on Wednesday, Aug. 31 at the Hilton Garden Inn.

The event, sponsored by Kaiser Permanente and NorthBay Healthcare, begins at 7:30 a.m. and lasts until 9:00 a.m.

For Solano EDC members, cost is $25 and $35 for non members.

Founded in 1983, the Solano EDC  describes itself as a collaboration of private and public investors that provides leadership for economic development and marketing in Solano County and its seven cities -- Benicia, Dixon, Fairfield, Rio Vista, Suisun City, Vacaville and Vallejo.

Its mission is "to attract, grow, and retain business and industry in Solano County that will enhance the economic vitality and quality of life in our communities."

Solano County has a population of roughly 420,000.
