SANTA ROSA — St. Joseph Health System–Sonoma County will hold a forum on the federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act of 2010 and how it impacts consumers.
The forum, “Understanding Health Care Reform and the Affordable Care Act,” will be available to the public at both Santa Rosa Memorial and Petaluma Valley hospitals. Speakers include Jo Sandersfeld, vice president of Mission Integration, Mark Knight, vice president of Strategic Services, and Christopher Manson, regional director of government relations.
In a 40-minute presentation followed by an open period for audience questions and answers, the forum will focus on what health care consumers can expect over the next several years as provisions of the landmark legislation take effect nationwide. Audience members will learn about the timeline for implementation of various provisions, about new benefits and what will be offered, and about the cost.
The forum will be held from 6:30–7:30 p.m. on the following dates at the two hospitals:
- Sept 14 at conference rooms B–D at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital.
- Sept. 21 in Groverman Hall at Petaluma Valley Hospital.
