Marin Community Clinics names Tavaszi CEO

MARIN COUNTY -- Marin Community Clinics, the county's largest federally qualified health center, has appointed Linda Tavaszi as its permanent chief executive officer.

Ms. Tavaszi, a veteran of Marin County health care, had been serving on an interim basis, after former CEO John Shen retired from the position earlier this year.

Ms. Tavaszi most recently  served as  senior vice president and executive director of physician services at Marin General Hospital. She holds masters degrees in social work and public administration from Fordham University and University of Southern California, and a PhD in health care administration from Walden University of Florida.

Ms. Tavaszi is no stranger to Marin Community Clinics, having served on its board of directors and as a consultant to Dr. Shen and the organization following her retirement from Marin General Hospital.

Dr. Shen guided the organization from 2007 to 2011 and  has subsequently assumed the position of  chief of the long-term-care division at the California Department of Health Care Services.

“I am honored to help lead Marin Community Clinics during this pivotal time in the organization and its critical role in ensuring access to quality health care for the thousands of low-income and uninsured people in Marin County,” Ms. Tavaszi said. “I am indeed fortunate to be working with a skilled team of physicians, outstanding medical and dental practitioners and a passionate Board of Directors. Together we will continue working in partnership with a network of superb organizations countywide to ensure quality healthcare for all.”

Marin Community Clinics focuses on primary and dental care at five locations throughout Marin, with two each in San Rafael and Novato and one in Greenbrae.
