Business Journal names 2011 Healthiest Companies award winners

NORTH BAY — The Business Journal selected recipients for its inaugural Healthiest Companies Recognition Awards with winners to be honored at the North Bay Business Journal’s 2011 Health Care Conference.

Healthiest Companies in the North BayProfiles of the winners will appear in a special publication supplementing the Nov. 28 issue, and winners will be honored at the Business Journal’s annual Health Care Conference from 7:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 30 at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek in Santa Rosa.

“Wellness has moved from buzzword to mainstream,” said Business Journal Editor and Associate Publisher Brad Bollinger. “These companies are all leaders in an unstoppable movement toward better health inside and outside of the workplace.”

The Business Journal collaborated with the Northern California Center for Well-Being and Health Action in Sonoma County on the recognition project. The center, Health Action and other partners have developed the iWorkwell recognitions to promote wellness in the workplace. Four of the Business Journal honorees have won iWorkwell recognitions. Other iWorkwell honorees have been the Northern California Center forWell-Being, Santa Rosa Community Health Centers, Straus Family Creamery, Visiting Angels-Santa Rosa, West County Health Centers and La Tortilla Factory.

The Business Journal award winners were selected after gathering nominations, company surveys and extensive review.
