North Bay Business Journal

Welcome to the Business Journal’s sixth annual Top Projects competition recognizing 11 exceptional contributions to the North Bay’s built environment.

With the simple criteria that they be new projects available for occupancy in 2011, nominations were solicited from architects, contractors, commercial real estate and other professionals from around the North Bay.

From their nominations, the 11 winners were selected by the Business Journal editorial staff for recognition. The winners include a beautiful Culinary Arts Facility at Santa Rosa Junior College, two new restaurants for two leading chefs in Napa, the restoration of the historic De Turk Round Barn in Santa Rosa, a unique school project in Ross and a health center to serve the uninsured and under-insured in Petaluma.

Together these projects represent the pioneering spirit of those willing to take risks and to invest in the future of the North Bay.

As we have noted for the past three years, we know how difficult this economy is. But it is just those conditions that make these projects all the more remarkable and underline why we think it’s absolutely critical that we tell our readership and the public about those organizations that are continuing to invest in our communities.

The 11 winners in 2011 join a total of more than 70 exceptional projects the Business Journal has recognized over the six years of this competition.
