    Stenberg CPA in Novato has hired Whitney Barrilleaux to its public accounting practice. She attended Sonoma State University, where she graduated cum laude in 2008. She has three years of accounting experience at a Santa Rosa firm.

    Redwood Credit Union named Cynthia Negri as its new senior vice president of retail lending. In her new role, Ms. Negri oversees the development and strategic direction of the credit union’s consumer loan, home loan and credit card programs. She has been with Redwood Credit Union for more than 14 years, most recently serving as senior vice president of administration and strategic planning. She holds bachelor’s degrees in both accounting and finance from San Francisco State University.

    Gregory Spaulding

    Gregory Spaulding, a founding partner of Santa Rosa law firm Spaulding McCulough & Tansil, was awarded the Amicus Curiae Award by the judges of  the Superior Court of Sonoma County for outstanding service and commitment to furthering justice in Sonoma County. The award was presented by Gary Nadler, presiding judge of  the Superior Court at the annual Pro Bono Luncheon hosted by the Sonoma County Bar Association. Mr. Spaulding began practicing law in 1982 after graduating from Southwestern School of Law.

    Nonprofits

    United Way of the Wine Country appointed Jerry Dunn to the United Way Board of Directors. Mr. Dunn has over 34 years experience in the operations and administration of human services programs in California. He is currently the assistant director of the Sonoma County Human Services Department. A graduate of the UC, Davis Executive Development Program, Mr. Dunn has also worked as an instructor for the UC, Davis Center for Human Services. He is actively involved with California’s County Welfare Directors Association, and recently concluded a year as chair of the CalWIN Policy Board.

    Pharmaceuticals

    Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in Novato has named Tom Kassberg as its chief business officer. Mr. Kassberg will lead the company’s business development and corporate strategic planning activities, in addition to human resources and legal affairs. He has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries, and he most recently consulted for Corium International Inc. and Rib-X Pharmaceuticals Inc.

    Real Estate

    Nancy Johnson

    Eugene Burger Management Corporation (EBMC) promoted Nancy Johnson to the position of director of residential management and leasing for the North Bay. She will oversee EBMC’s apartment communities, mixed-use rental and commercial communities, single-family homes and tenant-placement services in the North Bay. Carol Jean Martino and Donna Nordby have also joined EBMC. Ms. Martino will join Elena Fernandez as a single family property supervisor, and Ms. Nordby will fill the position of Multifamily Property Supervisor.

    Wine

    John Corcoran has joined Grgich Hills Estate as general manager, a new position for the Rutherford winery. Mr. Corcoran will be responsible for supervising all GHE employees while developing and focusing sales and marketing plans to ensure the company reaches its goals. He is a wine business sales, marketing and operations professional with two decades of experience in France, Germany, Washington and California, working with family wineries. Previously, Mr. Corcoran was owner of Think Wine Marketing, a Sonoma-based wine marketing firm.
