Assemblymember Jared Huffman will present his December Sustainable North Bay Award to Renaissance House of Beauty for its environmentally responsible products and business practices. In 2009, Renaissance became the first “green” certified hair and beauty salon in Marin County. For Renaissance, being green means being environmentally conscious about the products they use and retail, preventing excess waste, and conserving energy and water to reduce their carbon footprint, pollution and exposure to toxins.
Health Care
Novato-based Raptor Pharmaceutical Corp. announced a program update for its lead investigational compound, RP103 for the potential treatment of nephropathic cystinosis. RP103 is Raptor’s proprietary, enteric-coated, microbead delayed-release oral formulation of cysteamine bitartrate designed to potentially reduce dosing frequency and reduce gastrointestinal side effects associated with the currently approved immediate-release cysteamine bitartrate.

The 18th annual Condé Nast Traveler Gold List, which recognizes a collection of the world’s top hotels, resorts and cruise lines, has honored on four Auberge Resorts. Making its debut on the list this year is Solage Calistoga, located in Napa Valley. Auberge Resort’s flagship, Auberge du Soleil in Rutherford, been ranked again as one of the top three resorts in California. Auberge Resorts is a collection of hotels, resorts and private clubs. Among the North Bay Auberge Collection of properties are: Auberge du Soleil, Napa Valley; Calistoga Ranch, Solage Calistoga, Napa Valley.
