2012 SSU Economic Outlook Conference registration closes Friday

Registration for the Business Journal’s 2012 annual Sonoma State University Economic Outlook conference Feb. 23 will close Friday.
This year’s conference will focus on the region’s emerging industries in a slowly recovering state economy. Regional economic analysis and forecast will be given by Rob Eyler, Frank Howard Allen Research Fellow in Economics, Professor of Economics and Director of Sonoma State’s Executive MBA Program and Center for Regional Economic Analysis.
Hear from one of the icons of the region’s deep and promising food and agriculture industry, Amy’s Kitchen founder and CEO, Andy Berliner and learn how the region can support business and entrepreneurs from Carolyn Stark, director of Sonoma County Building Economic Success Together (BEST).
In addition, there will be presentations from Brian Sobel, principal consultant, Sobel Communications of Petaluma; Jill Techel, mayor of Napa; Remy Gross, director of technology transfer, Buck Institute and State Controller John Chiang who will be addressing the state of the state budget and finances in California and what lies ahead.
The event will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at the Doubletree Hotel in Rohnert Park. Registration begins at 8 a.m., and the program runs from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Tickets are $49 per person or $510 for a table of 10, continental breakfast included.
