Leslie Miller has joined Corte Madera-based Financial Connections Group, Inc., as a financial adviser, as the firm expands to handle its growing business in Marin County. Financial Connections is an independent, fee-only financial advisory firm that was founded in 1995. Ms. Miller, a resident of Kentfield, has more than 20 years of experience in the Bay Area as a financial advisor to individuals, families and businesses.  She specializes in financial analysis and planning, and delivering wealth-management solutions to clients.  Prior to joining Financial Connections, she was a private banker and relationship manager with a leading wealth management firm. Previously she was an executive at a municipal bond insurance company.  Ms. Miller holds an MBA in finance from Southern Methodist University, a master of international management degree from American Graduate School of International Management, as well as a degree in economics from the University of California, Davis.Nonprofits

The board of directors for YWCA Sonoma County has named Madeleine Keegan O’Connell as executive director. Ms. Keegan O’Connell joins the organization after a history of experience in the non-profit arena, most recently managing non-profit support and community relations for Sonoma Bank in Santa Rosa. Ms. Keegan O’Connell replaces former Executive Director Denise Frey.

The US Green Building Council Redwood Empire Chapter announced the election of six new members to its board of directors. Elected for two-year terms were Debora Fudge, mayor of Windsor and LEED accredited professional; Alex Hinds, co-founder, managing consultant of Sonoma State University’s Center for Sustainable Communities; Glenn Mercurio, energy nnalyst and LEED accredited professional with integrated building efficiency; Julie Montgomery, founder of Sage Principles; Deb Padia, promotion and events specialist with Comcast; and Angela Robinson, pursuit coordinator with GHD (formerly Winzler & Kelly). Additionally, the board appointed Rob Hendricksen of Hendricksen Natürlich Flooring, Inc. to the chapter board.Professional Organizations

Virginia Sargent with Steward Property Services Inc. in Petaluma has been awarded the statewide designation of “Certified Community Association Manager” from the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). The CCAM certification is awarded to community managers who have completed CACM’s educational curriculum program and fulfilled a minimum requirement of work experience in the field of community association management.Media

Nicki Wells has joined the North Bay Business Journal as an account executive, where she will focus on numerous industries including accounting,  staffing and employment, insurance and architects and engineers.  A Sonoma County native, she has held previous positions in business-to-business development across a variety of industries.Residential Real Estate

Lynn Bowen of the Sebastopol office  for Artisan Sotheby's International Realty has obtained her Real Estate Broker’s License.   

Heather Mendoza has earned the Certified Negotiation Expert  (CNE) Designation.  Agents who receive this certification are in the top 1% of all agents nationally. Ms. Mendoza is managing broker for the Artisan Sotheby’s International offices in Healdsburg, Santa Rosa and Sebastopol.  She is a long time resident of Sonoma County with nearly a decade of professional real estate experience.
