David Schmidt

Summit State Bank hired David Schmidt as a senior relationship officer. Mr. Schmidt joins Summit with 25 years of banking experience in Petaluma. He was a national bank examiner for the Controller of the Currency and senior vice president and senior loan officer at Bank of Petaluma.

Commercial Real Estate

Scott Beggs

Scott Beggs was promoted to the newly created position of director of asset management at Basin Street Properties, which has a number of holdings in Sonoma County. Mr. Beggs will be responsible for the financial management and forecasting of the company’s portfolio. He will also focus on the integration of activities and communication between several key functional areas and regional locations. He was a partner and investment broker at Reno-based commercial real estate company NAI Alliance, vice president of portfolio management at Nevada-based Dermody Properties and corporate finance analyst at San Diego-based Burnham Pacific Properties.

Health Care

Bob Jackson

Robert Jackson was elected to the board of directors at Alexander Valley Healthcare, a federally-recognized Rural Health Clinic serving nearly 7,000 residents of Cloverdale and Geyserville. He has owned and operated drug stores and was a pharmacist for major chains. 

Kaiser Permanente Santa Rosa Medical Center appointed Minerva Singh admitting and business office manager. She joined Kaiser in 2003 as an admitting representative and was promoted to business office manager. She later served as admitting department manager. 

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. appointed Dan Spiegelman executive vice president and chief financial officer He will replace longtime BioMarin CFO Jeffrey Cooper at the end of the month. Mr. Spiegelman was a strategic financial management consultant to a portfolio of public and private life science companies. He was senior vice president and CFO of CV Therapeutics and has served in various roles at Genentech, Inc., most recently as treasurer.

Nonprofits

Lorenzo Duenas

Assistant Sheriff Lorenzo Duenãs was appointed to the Sonoma County Family YMCA board of directors. His assignments in the sheriff’s office include supervision of the field training unit, helicopter search and rescue unit, and the multi-agency gang task force. He was promoted to assistant sheriff in January 2010 and currently commands the investigations, court security and transportation bureaus as well as the law enforcement division.

Publishing

Peter Collingridge

Safari Books Online hired Peter Collingridge as vice president of product development, leading a global product development team. He will also sit on the Sebastopol-based company’s executive committee. Mr. Collingridge began his work in the publishing world at independent publisher Canongate Books in 1997. In 2005, he opened Apt Studio, a strategic design and marketing consultancy that advised publishers on digital technology and strategy. In 2008, Mr. Collingridge co-founded Enhanced Editions to drive innovation in publishing. The Evening Standard named him as one of London’s 50 most influential people in publishing.
