Star Staffing adds Santa Rosa branch as it seeks to expand

SANTA ROSA -- Star Staffing announced that it has opened a new office near the Sonoma County airport in Santa Rosa, marking the Petaluma-based staffing company's fourth office in Northern California.

The new office, at 5550 Skylane Blvd., is in addition to Star's Petaluma headquarters and offices in Healdsburg and Napa, as well as satellite offices in Ukiah, Fairfield and Sonoma.

Nicole Smartt, vice president and co-owner of Star, said the move into Santa Rosa is the beginning phase of an aggressive five-year expansion plan that could lead to more offices in the future. She also said that in order for Star Staffing to achieve the growth it hopes for, it needed to boost its presence in Sonoma County's biggest city.

"We feel this expansion will result in distinct advantages to our clients, employees, and future candidates," Ms. Smartt said. "We are looking forward to being part of the Santa Rosa community even more now."

The new office will offer a full range of staffing and employment services in a variety of professional and light industrial disciplines. Star has seen its presence at wineries increase, and Ms. Smartt said the company would likely continue to target that industry. But it does plan to add to its administrative, accounting, finance, information technology, and professional services as it seeks to expand.

Star Staffing also said it has seen improvements in North Bay hiring, with a particular emphasis on temporary and temp-to-hire employees, which is helping to drive its own growth.

“The Santa Rosa office opening is an exciting time for both Star Staffing and the staffing industry. This expansion shows that job creation is on its way back. We are opening the Santa Rosa location to better serve Sonoma County companies and residents with their employment needs,” says Lisa Rogelstad, CEO and co-owner of Star Staffing.

Star Staffing now has 14 employees, a number it hopes to increase over the next five years. The company offers recruiting and screening, payroll and time attendance management, on-site management, risk reduction programs, employee rewards and benefits to a multitude of industries, including manufacturing, industrial, clerical, administrative, accounting, finance, information technology, and professional services.
