ROHNERT PARK — As construction of the $800 million Graton Resort and Casino project in northwest Rohnert Park speeds toward a planned opening late this year, the developer on Monday ramped up the marketing campaign with the release of architectural renderings and a website for the forthcoming facility.

Las Vegas-based Station Casinos described the exterior look of the 320,000-square-foot building — natural stone, dark wood and copper paneling, living walls and waterfalls  – as “casual contemporary elegance.”

The resort website (www.GratonResortCasino.com) is set to have project updates and information on opportunities to land one of the anticipated 2,000 ongoing jobs upon opening.

Horrible how the residents of RP did not want this casino, nor the people and cities surrounding it. Despite the will of the people, the city council approved it. Casinos provide no benefit that outweighs the damage done to communities and businesses. Casinos take from thoes who can least afford it. There are very good reasons gambling is illegal.

Like #Stacy we’re very excited about this new casino. It will be nice to have one so close. We’re tired of having to take a bus or long drives just to visit a casino, Count us in…we will definitely be there.

F.Y.I. PEOPLE LIKE BEING ABLE TO EARN A LIVING. I AM ONE OF THE CONSTRUCTION WORKERS, FROM THE PROJECT. PRAISE GOD FOR THIS CASINO. YOU KNOW HOW MANY FAMILIES WITH KIDS ARE GOING TO BE ABLE TO LIVE OFF THIS MAJOR ECONOMIC BOOST? YOU’RE PROBABLY AGAINST GUNS TOO. LIKE GUNS, IT’S NOT THE CASINO’S THAT CAUSE PROBLEMS IT’S THE PEOPLE THAT USE THEM.

WHY DON’T YOU SPEND YOUR ENERGY HELPING OTHERS, AND SPREADING THE GOSPEL.
