SANTA ROSA — In its latest effort to expand outpatient services, Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital today announced a partnership with eight local cardiologists to open a diagnostic cardiology clinic.

St. Joseph HealthThe new clinic, located inside a medical office building at 500 Doyle Park Dr. on the Memorial campus, will offer tests such as echocardiograms (EKGs) as well as radiologic or echocardiogram stress tests helpful in identifying and treating heart disease.

The St. Joseph Health outpatient clinic will include longtime Memorial cardiologists John Hunter, M.D., John Reed, M.D., Patrick Devlin, M.D., Tomas Vasiliauskas, M.D., Emily Conway, M.D., Joel Erickson, M.D., Jose Ballesteros, M.D., and William Bowden, M.D.

“We are pleased to be able to offer patients this convenience, and to help detect and manage their heart disease in a clinic that’s close to our medical offices and the hospital,” Dr. Hunter said in a statement. “We have sought to create a patient-centered environment where those who are tested can benefit from the same sophisticated imaging they’d receive in the hospital, but with easier, quicker access and more affordable pricing.”

Additional staffing will come from imaging technologists from St. Joseph Health–owned Memorial.

“We’re proud to expand our outpatient services in cooperation with these respected cardiologists,” said Todd Salnas, president of St. Joseph Health in Sonoma County. “They are members of a team that has distinguished Memorial’s Heart & Vascular Institute as the region’s finest, and this new service will increase patients’ access to their expertise while enhancing coordination of patients’ care.”

The cardiology clinic is St. Joseph Health’s latest move into the outpatient realm. Within the last month, St. Joseph Health acquired a majority share in Advanced Surgery Institute, LLC, giving the hospital access to a newly built ambulatory surgical center. Additionally, St. Joseph Health–affiliated Annadel Medical Group recently opened an after-hours primary care clinic, with similar stated goals of expanding access to care.
