The Sonoma County Board of Supervisors appointed Susan Klassen transportation and public works director. She has been with the county since 1985. Recruited after a national search, she is the county's first female director of transportation and public works and one of only four women in such a role in California. Previous roles include deputy director of transportation for the county from 2003 to 2013, engineering division manager for road and bridge design, manager for the refuse division from 1997 to 2002, senior civil engineer for engineering design and roads financing from 1990 to 1997.

Sonoma County Supervisor Shirlee Zane was elected to the board of directors for the National Committee to Preserve Social Security and Medicare Foundation. The nonprofit's mission is to protect, promote and ensure the financial security, health and well-being of current and future generations of Americans through research, analysis and public education.Insurance

Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. of Novato named Jay Dipasupil vice president of programs and Dan Reed vice president of professional liability. Mr. Dipasupil, a 25-year insurance veteran, will be responsible for providing strategic and operational direction and achieving profitable growth. Most recently, he led the specialty solutions group at Chartis and was responsible for the development and execution of underwriting, production and distribution management for its professional liability products. Prior to Chartis, he held underwriting and leadership roles with Travelers and Zurich. Mr. Reed, with 20 years' experience, will be responsible for managing the professional liability line of business. He has managed teams responsible for lawyers’ professional liability, accountants’ professional liability, real estate errors and omissions, and insurance agents and brokers errors and omissions. Prior to joining Fireman’s Fund, Mr. Reed worked for Travelers, St. Paul Companies and Great American Insurance Group.
