Carine Arend, CPA, has been promoted to senior manager in the tax department of the Santa Rosa public accounting firm of Dal Poggetto & Company, LLP. She has eight years of experience in providing income tax services to technology, food, health care and wine companies.

Reed Upson joined Warren Capital Corp. in Novato as finance and operations analyst. He will provide support on company-side underwriting and analysis in addition to working with North Bay and West Coast companies and the ZipLease Vendor program. He graduated from Dominican University in May with a B.A. in business administration. For the last two years, he has been a financial analyst at several firms, including Ogilvy Public Relations, Bank of America Merrill Lynch and O’Donnell Financial Group.Health Care

Surani Kwan was presented the 2013 Nurse Practitioner of Distinction award by the California Association for Nurse Practitioners. Ms. Kwan is entering her second year as executive director of operations for the north division of Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, following an eight-year stint as the director of patient care at Sutter Medical Center of Santa Rosa. She also is a family nurse practitioner at the Russian River Health Center, a local community clinic for the medically underserved. She has practiced there since 2000.Technology

Autodesk Inc. of San Rafael appointed to its board of directors Tom Georgens. He has served as chief executive officer and president of NetApp since August 2009, and has been a member of its board of directors since March 2008. Previously with NetApp, he was executive vice president and general manager of enterprise storage systems, executive vice president of product operations and chief operating officer.Wine

Penfolds named DLynn Proctor its winemaking ambassador for the Americas. Mr. Proctor began his tenure at Treasury Wine Estates in June 2011 as regional sales director, and more recently, as wine education director for TWE’s luxury portfolio. He is based in Napa. Mr. Proctor was named “Best New Sommelier in America” by Wine & Spirits magazine in 2008, was a finalist in the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs Societe Mondiale du Vin Best Sommelier in America competition in 2008 and 2009, and was named to the national list of Rudd scholars of 2011.
