Surveying firm adds wine focus in merger

HEALDSBURG -- Santa Rosa-based land surveying company Cinquini & Passarino has added a wine focus by merging in Howard Brunner's 16-year-old surveying business in Healdsburg.

Mr. Brunner said he plans to retire in three to five years and wanted to transition out of management while bringing clients more advanced surveying services.

Cinquini & Passarino has laser-scanning equipment, which will be helpful in taking measurements for complex wine cave enhancements such as kitchen vent shafts and for digitization of as-built parameters. The company also can network GPS measurement equipment Mr. Brunner has used in vineyard topographical surveying and mapping.

Cinquini & Passarino has worked on some winery projects, but it hasn't been a company focus, according to Jim Dickey, president. He said Mr. Brunner's two-person company is well-connected with the wine industry in Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties.
