First Northern Community Bancorp, the holding company for First Northern Bank, announced that John Carbahal was elected to a three-year term as chairman and Foy McNaughton was elected to a one-year term as vice chairman. They bring to their new positions 30 years of combined directorship experience with First Northern. Mr. Carbahal has served on the Board since July 1996. He was named vice chairman of the board in 2009 . Mr. Carbahal is a CPA and co-founder of Carbahal & Company, Inc., an accountancy corporation in Davis.

Mr. McNaughton has served on the board since 2000 and currently serves as Chairman of the Directors’ Audit Committee and as a member of both the Loan and Compensation Committees. McNaughton is the president and CEO of McNaughton Newspapers, a group of community newspapers that include the Davis Enterprise, Daily Republic (Fairfield), Mountain Democrat (Placerville), Winters Express and Life Newspapers (El Dorado County).

Sonoma Bank recently hired Linda Sims as a treasury management sales consultant at its Walnut Creek SBA and Loan office. Ms. Sims comes to Sonoma Bank with more than 25 years of banking experience in treasury management, credit card services and merchant services. In her new role, she is responsible for advising business customers on depository best practices and consulting to Sonoma Bank’s suite of treasury management services, including those that enhance receivables, payments, information and risk management systems.

Sonoma Bank also hired Jon Daco as a sales manager and loan officer at its Walnut Creek Home Loan Division. Mr. Daco comes to Sonoma with more than 10 years of mortgage-lending experience. After attending UCLA, he returned to the Bay Area to focus on a career in the mortgage industry.Commercial Real Estate

Codding Investments board of directors appointed Eric Reid to serve as the company’s chief financial officer. Mr. Reid brings financial and operational leadership with past experience as a financial analyst as well as management roles with accounting firms in Palo Alto and Santa Rosa. Creative Counseling for Elders and Families, Inc. announced the addition of Kira Reginato, therapeutic care manager, to its staff. Ms. Reginato previously had been serving clients at her firm, Living Ideas For Elders, for over five years . Ms. Reginato is known throughout the Bay Area as the radio host of Call Kira About Aging! She brings 15 years’ experience in care management to Creative Counseling. She will continue to host the show on 1350 KSRO AM Saturdays from 2 to 3 p.m.Hospitality

The Olive Press in Sonoma hired Chris Gilmore as its new production manager, where he will maintain all relationships with farmers, quality and movement of oil and mill The Olive Press Olive Oil. He is also the new representative for The Olive Press to the California Certified Organic Farmers as well as the California Olive Oil Council. The Olive Press was recently purchased by Cline Cellars and Jacuzzi Family Vineyards.Insurance

Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company appointed Erik Matson commercial insurance field executive. Mr. Matson will be responsible for growing Fireman’s Fund’s commercial insurance business, including middle market, small business and farm and ranch business. He will be based in Fireman’s Fund’s Liberty Corner office in New Jersey. As a 25-year industry veteran, he most recently served as the regional president of the Americas for AIG small and medium commercial lines and program businesses. Prior to AIG, Matson worked for Munich Re Group, IBM, Deloitte, and Booz Allen Hamilton.Wine

Susie Bynum, national sales manager for Ehret Family Winery, was re-elected to a third term as chairman of The Meritage Alliance at the group’s annual meeting in May. As chairman, Ms. Bynum will lead the marketing efforts to promote the Meritage concept to both trade and consumers. Also elected to one-year terms as officers were Donnis Topel, co-owner of Topel Winery, who will be treasurer, and Peggy Gsell, brand manager for Boisset Family Estates, who will serve as secretary.
