Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation names new CEO

Sutter Pacific Medical Foundation, a multispecialty group of 260 physicians across San Francisco, Marin, Sonoma, Lake and Del Norte counties, appointed Toni Brayer, MD, chief executive officer.

Dr. Brayer will take the helm for the Sutter Health--affiliated group Aug. 1. She succeeds Mike Cohill, who has been serving in two roles as CEO of the foundation and president of Sutter Health's West Bay Region, where he will remain.

Since 2010, Dr. Brayer has been vice president and chief medical officer of Sutter Health’s West Bay Region. She has practiced internal medicine in San Francisco for 25 years, first in private practice and most recently as a Sutter Pacific contracted physician. Dr. Brayer, a Mill Valley resident, has served as chief of staff at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco  and she is past-president of the San Francisco Medical Society.

Dr. Brayer is an associate clinical professor of medicine at University of California, San Francisco, and is on the clinical faculty at California Pacific Medical Center, where she designed an ambulatory elective for internal medicine residents.

Dr. Brayer graduated cum laude from Arizona State University and received her medical degree from the University of Arizona.
