NAPA — Labor trends in the wine industry will take center stage at North Bay Business Journal‘s sixth-annual Impact Napa conference on Aug. 29.

    Rob Eyler

Impact Napa: Wine will feature an analysis of the industry’s labor situation by Dr. Robert Eyler, regional economist and director of the executive MBA program at Sonoma State University followed by a discussion among a panel of industry experts.

“One major concern in Napa is the availability of a labor force for agriculture, versus hospitality and restaurant employment,” Dr. Eyler said. ”Another is simply the importation of labor for all jobs to Napa, as there may be less and less an indigenous labor force in Napa for a lot of the jobs there.”

Also on the industry discussion panel will be Tony Correia, an accredited rural appraiser at Correia-Xavier Incorporated, and Bill Harlan of Harlan Estate.

Seating is limited for the event, which will be held 8:30–11 a.m. at Napa Valley Marriott Hotel & Spa in Napa.

The deadline for registration is Aug. 24. Tickets cost $55 for individuals and $550 for a table of 10 and are available either via www.NorthBayBusinessJournal.com or by calling Linda Perkins at 707-521-5264.

Breakfast will be included, along with an annual subscription to the Business Journal for new subscribers.
