Ms. Farrugia, most recently executive director of Robert Half International's The Creative Group, has more than 30 years of experience in marketing, business development and management. Effective Sept. 9, she will focus on keeping Nelson (nelsonhr.com) at the forefront of an ever-expanding staffing and compliance market, according to the company.

Before The Creative Group, Ms. Farrugia was senior vice president at Robert Half after coming from 3M as global services marketing manager.

The move to Nelson was a natural progression for Farrugia, a leader who shares Nelson’s values and is committed to identifying innovative strategies to advance the way staffing services are delivered while maintaining the honest and client-centric way Nelson has always done business.

"This is a progressive company that has thrived for more than four decades by embracing change and innovation, while using sound practices and maintaining an unwavering adherence to client loyalty," Ms. Farrugia said.

In addition to her professional accomplishments, Farrugia is a sought-after presenter at industry events such as the HOW Design Conference, the American Advertising Federation National Conference and the American Marketing Association's International Collegiate Conference. She has also delivered webinars for the American Advertising Federation and Graphic Artists Guild and has contributed articles on career-related topics to various publications.

“When we undertook the search for a new CEO, we had high expectations and requirements for the role,” said Craig Nelson, former CEO. "It quickly became obvious that Ms. Farrugia would meet and exceed them.”

Founded in 1970, Nelson has offices throughout the West Coast, Southwest and Northeast. It ranks among the largest independent staffing companies in the Unites States.

Nelson is a co-host of North Bay Business Journal's annual Best Places to Work awards, set for Sept. 18 in Santa Rosa. Nelson has garnered similar accolades from San Francisco Business Times and San Jose/Silicon Valley Business Journal, was named a Area News Group Top Workplace for 2013 and is regularly recognized by Northbay Biz as "Best Job Placement Service."

Inavero named Nelson to its 2013 Best of Staffing list for client satisfaction and the San Francisco 49ers give their vote of confidence by claiming Nelson as their preferred staffing partner.
