San Rafael-based Marx Group Advisors appointed Max Dull to the firm’s advisory board and to the position of vice president. In 2005 Mr. Dull formed Heritage Equity Group to purchase Beck/Arnley from Affinia. He served as president and chief executive officer of Beck/Arnley, as well as CEO of Heritage until 2008, when he engineered the sale of Beck/Arnley to Uni-Select, Inc. He remained with Uni-Select as vice president and general manager of Beck/Arnley until December 2012. Marx Group Advisors assists automotive, commercial vehicle and heavy duty aftermarket companies with strategic consulting services for mergers, acquisitions and divestitures and capital formation for private equity placements.
Cotati-based United Mechanical Inc. announced that Shannon Rund has joined its team as an account manager serving the North Bay, greater San Francisco and East Bay. She has over 12 years in the heating, ventilation and air-conditioning industry and four in energy efficiency. Ms. Rund will work with commercial facility operations to develop preventive-maintenance programs, retrofit and tenant-improvement projects as well as light construction.
Sonoma County First District Supervisor Susan Gorin hired Jennifer Gray as a part-time board aide to her district staff. Ms. Gray will work two-thirds of her time solely in the Sonoma Valley. She attended Santa Rosa Junior College, Dominican University and received her master’s degree in public administration from the University of Southern California. Ms. Gray was an advance-placement language and composition teacher at Ursuline High School for 10 years and, most recently, a consultant for nonprofit organizations specializing in leadership, management, strategic-planning and program evaluation.
Marsha Treadwell, PhD, and LaDawn Reichling have been elected to the board of directors of San Rafael-based Lifehouse. Their three-year term began July 1. Dr. Treadwell is a clinical psychologist. She currently works as a clinical scientist at Children’s Hospital Oakland Research Institute. Dr. Treadwell is also the parent of a Lifehouse resident. Ms. Reichling has worked to enhance the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. In her time with Easter Seals, Ms. Reichling has a master’s degree in therapeutic recreation and helped to start the first county recreation programs for those with disabilities. She was also instrumental in starting Special Olympics in Marin and worked with the organization for 35 years, retiring in 2004. Officers for 2013–2014 are: Stephen Meeker, chair; Donna Vazifdar, vice chair; Justin Mace, secretary; and, Eric Aanes, treasurer.
Family Justice Center Sonoma County named Wes Winter as executive director. He has over 30 years of leadership experience in nonprofit and business sectors. Mr. Winter had been executive director since 2009 of North Coast Opportunities, where he was responsible for community-based human services programs for seven North Bay counties and a budget of $16 million. Previously, in , Mr. Winter served as executive director of the Volunteer Center of Sonoma County from 2002–2005 and of Circuit Rider Productions (now the Center for Social and Environmental Stewardship) from 1989–2002.
Peter Renfro joined Rohnert Park-based Westcoast Solar Energy as general manager. A member of the board of directors at Solar Sonoma County and co-chair of the vendor subcommittee, Mr. Renfro has worked to promote and support solar providers in Sonoma County and all of Northern California. His project and senior management experience includes more than 5 megawatts of commercial solar photovoltaic systems installed in Northern California.
Vacaville-based RF Biocidics, a food-safety company that provides an environmentally friendly and chemical-free alternative for disinfection and disinfestation, hired Parastoo Yaghmaee, PhD, as director of process technology. Dr. Yaghmaee will work with clients on integrating the company’s equipment into their food-processing systems, allowing for customization according to each client’s needs. He earned a doctorate in food science from the University of British Columbia, Dr. Yaghmaee previously served as senior scientist at EnWave Corp. and has two decades experience in the industry.
Pellegrini Wine Company at Olivet Lane Vineyard in Sonoma County’s Russian River Valley hired Lynn Krausmann as winemaker. Ms. Krausmann has more than 20 years’ experience as a winemaker. Prior to joining Pellegrini Wine Company, Ms. Krausman was winemaker for Esterlina Vineyards for the past three years, and Williams Selyem for the preceding six years. Her previous experience includes winemaker for Clos du Bois Wines and assistant winemaker for Freemark Abbey, as well as vintage experience at Robert Mondavi Winery and Cloudy Bay Wines, New Zealand
The Hess Collection named Steven Frederico as New England regional sales manager. Mr. Frederico was most recently vice president sales for Davies Family Selections. He started his career with the Carolina Wine Company, known earlier as Martignetti Grocer, in 1993. He represented the Martignetti portfolio for 11 years in Massachusetts and Rhode Island before moving to Ruby Wines in MA as a Division Sales Manager, supervising a team of seven.
