Business Journal opens nominations for inaugural Wine Industry Awards

The North Bay Business Journal is accepting nominations for its inaugural Wine Industry Awards to be made in conjunction with the second annual North Coast Wine Industry Expo later this year.

The awards are for both individuals and suppliers in 14 categories from Winery CEO of the Year to Glass Supplier of the Year. Nominations can be made online at NorthBayBusinessJournal.com. Nominations are open through the month of September and close Oct. 4. Recipients, which will be selected by the Journal editorial staff, will be honored at an awards reception Dec. 3 two days prior to the expo Dec. 5 put on by the Wine Industry Network. In addition to the Business Journal awards, the Wine Industry Network will present its own Winnovation Awards in three categories.

"That week in December will belong to everything that is great about the North Coast wine industry," said Business Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger. "Something like this, focused on the talent in our region, is long overdue."

Said George Christie, president of the Wine Industry Network, "There’s no disputing the fact that the climate is a big reason why North Coast wines are so spectacular, but ultimately, it’s the people, and their passion, that continue to drive the region’s wine industry to new heights. These awards will  finally acknowledge and celebrate the individuals and companies that have contributed so much to the region's success, and we’re thrilled to be a part of it."
