Montgomery Taylor & Co. in Santa Rosa recently hired Kelly Mills for its new financial services assistant position. Ms. Mills will be working with clients on the investment-management and financial-planning side of the firm, and will also be delivering tax returns during tax season. Financial services specialist Sandy Koppen has been moved to a level of higher responsibility in assisting clients with retirement planning and managing the flow of tax-preparation services.
Mechanics Bank appointed Christa Steele as president and chief executive officer. For the last 11 years, Ms. Steele has been employed by Farmers & Merchants Bancorp, a Northern California community banking enterprise, most recently as an executive vice president and wholesale banking manager. Mechanics Bank is based in Richmond but has a sizable presence throughout Napa County.
San Rafael City Council member Damon Connolly officially announced he is running for the First District seat on the Marin County Board of Supervisors in the June 2014 election. Mr. Connolly has hired the firm The Next Generation to manage his campaign. The firm has managed Connolly’s two previous city council campaigns, as well as the successful 2012 campaigns of Marin County supervisors Katie Rice and Kate Sears, and the 2006 campaign that first elected Jared Huffman to the State Assembly. Mr. Connolly is a two-term San Rafael City Council member, former vice mayor, school board president, and supervising deputy California attorney general. He was first elected to the city council in 2007, and re-elected in 2011.
Patricia Dahl joined Healdsburg Primary Care and Healdsburg District Hospital as an internist. Dr. Dahl has practiced throughout the Bay Area, including Napa, Cloverdale, Hayward, Oakland, Santa Rosa and Healdsburg. She was chief resident at a Kaiser Permanente facility in Oakland.
Danielle Oryn, DO, MPH, medical director at Petaluma Health Center, was among 32 clinicians chosen to participate in the California HealthCare Foundation Health Care Leadership Program. The program is a part-time fellowship that offers clinically trained health care professionals hands-on opportunities to learn the decision making, strategic planning, and execution skills needed to excel as leaders in today’s demanding and complex health care environment. The program has trained more than 300 doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care professionals. It is led by nationally recognized health care and leadership development experts from the UCSF Center for Health Professions and the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
The Council on Aging brought on Roxanne Derr Lemereis as dining site manager at the Healdsburg Senior Center. Meals on Wheels provides an average of 1872 freshly prepared meals annually to this center.
Hospice by the Bay honored its more than 500 volunteers at its Volunteer Appreciation Reception at the agency’s Larkspur headquarters, with the top service award going to Robert Beadle of Larkspur for his 23 years of leadership and support. Mr. Beadle was given the 2013 Dee Fahy Volunteer Achievement Award for his leadership as a former member of Hospice by the Bay’s board of directors, board of trustees and development and planned giving committee. The award, given by Chief Executive Officer Sandra Lew, also acknowledged Mr. Beadle’s continuing work with the volunteer group, the Friends of Hospice, which supports programs such as Camp Erin, the annual, retreat weekend for grieving children and teens, and the two Marin Hodgepodge thrift stores, which raise funds for community programs.

Janeen Greve joined Frank Howard Allen Realtors in Sebastopol. She has been a licensed real estate since 2003, when she transitioned from a hotel sales management and meeting planning career. She has a successful background in new home sales and has represented her clients as both a buyer’s and listing agent. She also has REO experience and is a Notary Public of Napa County.
Susan Mortenson affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a sales associate in its Santa Rosa office, where she will continue specializing in residential sales in Sonoma County. Ms. Mortenson has been a licensed realtor for 11 years and, prior to affiliating with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, was with Frank Howard Allen Realtors. She has earned the Senior Real Estate Specialist, Certified Negotiations Expert, and Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource designation
