Deadline extended for Corporate Philanthropy nominations

The Business Journal has extended  the deadline for nominations for its first-ever Corporate Philanthropy Awards to Feb. 17.

The awards, which will recognize the contributions of companies and organizations that improve life in the North Bay, are "long overdue," said Business Journal Publisher Brad Bollinger. "Businesses across a wide spectrum of sizes in the North Bay are generously committed to their communities in many areas of need from the arts to homelessness. It's our privilege to recognize them."

Nominations will be accepted across a range of size categories from small to large companies and can include corporate foundations. In addition, nonprofits or other organizations can submit nominations for companies or organizations they believe should be recognized.

Nominees will be evaluated according to both financial contributions and volunteer efforts. Winners, to be selected by the Business Journal editorial staff, will be honored at an awards luncheon in March.

The event's principal sponsor is Wells Fargo.
