Frederick Dopfel, PhD, has joined Marin County wealth management firm Private Ocean as an owner. He will serve as co-chair of the firm's investment committee with Frank Jones. Dr. Dopfel has worked as an investment professional in the Bay Area for more than 30 years. In addition to his role as co-chair of the investment committee at Private Ocean, he is also a professor in the School of Business and Leadership at Dominican University of California. Previously, he was managing director and head of client advisory at BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager. He holds a PhD in engineering economic systems, an MS in operations research from Stanford University, and a BS in mathematics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.Construction

Janver Holly, owner of Holly and Associates General Contractors of Santa Rosa, was awarded the 2013--2014 Big50 Award by Remodeling magazine in the Full-Service Remodeling category. The distinction was based on Mr. Holly's strategies for overcoming recessionary pressures in the construction industry. Grant Davies, chief executive officer of Sutter North Bay Hospitals and executive vice president of California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, has been appointed to the board of commissioners for The Joint Commission, the leading accreditor of health care facilities in the U.S. Mr. Davies oversees seven acute care hospitals with more than 1,400 beds and 34,000 annual admissions in the Sutter Health West Bay region. Prior to Sutter Health, he managed physician practices and outpatient operations for both the University of Utah Hospital and the University of Colorado Hospital.Law

Santa Rosa law firm Friedemann Goldberg, LLP, named Stephanie Barber Hess as a partner. She is the first new partner in eight years. With more than 15 years of experience, Ms. Hess specializes in business, commercial and probate litigation, bankruptcy and creditor rights. She has been an attorney with the firm since 2008. Kathy Jensen affiliated with Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage as a sales associate in the Petaluma office. A 27-year industry veteran, Ms. Jensen was previously at Pacific Union briefly after a long career with Frank Howard Allen Reators. She was consistently among the top five Petaluma agents for that company and one of the top 10 for all of Frank Howard Allen. She has been the Petaluma Realtor of the Year and was named to Frank Howard Allen's Hall of Fame. Ms. Jensen's experience includes new-subdivision developments.

Pacific Union Marin County sales associate Shana Rohde-Lynch was designated Christie's International Real Estate Luxury Specialist for 2014. Ms. Rohde-Lynch was identified as one of the 140 most successful real estate professionals in the network. Criteria for participation in the conference included a requirement that each attendee be among the top 10 percent of sales for the affiliate brokerage.Wine

Truchard Vineyards appointed Anthony Truchard II general manager. Mr. Truchard, an attorney and the youngest son of founders Tony and Jo Ann Truchard, will oversee all aspects of sales, marketing and day-to-day operations of the Napa winery, including working alongside winemaker Sal De Ianni. Previously sales and marketing director, Mr. Truchard led the recent expansion of Truchard Vineyards into several new markets, including Canada, the United Kingdom and China. He received his bachelor's degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and returned to Napa after graduation to join a vineyard management company.

Schlatter Family Wines of St. Helena appointed Liz Lease vice president of direct-to-consumer sales for its Merryvale Vineyards and Starmont Winery properties. Ms. Lease comes from Duckhorn Wine Co., where for the last three years she was responsible for all direct-to-consumer business at Duckhorn Vineyards, Paraduxx Napa Valley and Goldeneye Winery. Prior to Duckhorn, she spent six years in various DTC management roles at Diageo Chateau & Estate, including director of hospitality and DTC sales at Sterling, Acacia, Provenance and Moon Mountain Vineyards. She began her wine career at Steltzner and Sullivan Vineyards, where she held DTC, marketing and sales positions.
